The Pony Club is an international voluntary youth organisation for young people interested in ponies and riding. Founded in England in 1929, and granted independent charitable status on 1st January 1997. The Pony Club has been the starting point for a large majority of equestrian team members and medal winners.
The Pony Club is represented in 18 countries with a worldwide membership exceeding 110,000 making it the largest association of young riders in the world.
Pony Club is run every weekday evening and consists of a two-hour session split into riding and pony care.
There are 344 branches (for children who have their own ponies) and over 550 riding schools running the Centre Membership Scheme throughout the United Kingdom.
Centre membership allows the opportunity for children, who do not own a pony and who ride at riding schools, to progress their riding and pony care knowledge through the Pony Club training structure.
All our instructors are qualified or very experienced people who have access to one of the finest youth training organisations in the world. In fact the Pony Club is the fourth largest youth organisation in the United Kingdom. Our instructors are regularly briefed on the latest regulations and attend accreditation days.
As a member of the Pony Club your child is automatically insured for Personal (Third Party) Liability arising from equestrian activities up to a limit of indemnity of £30,000,000. This means that, should your child be involved in an incident which results in injury to someone (other than a family member or an employee) or damage to their property and be held legally liable for injury or damage, the policy will pay the damages and legal costs.
Mini Pony Club is for children aged 5 and 6. This will give children basic knowledge before joining the Pony Club when they are 7.
The Mini Pony Club will be following a different syllabus from the Pony Club. The new syllabus is designed for younger members. There are many achievement badges to be taken as well as bronze awards.
Mini Pony Club will also be running Pony Club rally days through the school holidays.
Mini Pony Club will be held on Fridays from 4.30pm to 6pm, fortnightly. Each member will ride for 45 minutes and work towards badges for 45 minutes. The cost is £20.
